Artist Spotlight - Jasmine Hurtado

A fresh and youthful voice are just two of the characteristics that describe Jasmine Hurtado. At an early age she showed a passion to serve God through singing and music. Jasmine Hurtado rises up as a pioneer of a new generation that dares to shine with her gifts for Jesus. Her energy and radiating face show a joy that, along with her youth, impact thousands around the world with her music and example! There is no doubt that Jasmine has an incredible potential, her desire to minister to the youth of her generation is eminent in every aspect of her life. Jasmine has an extraordinary talent that inspires a deep feeling of a tender love for God.
Jasmine is now 15 years old and a native of Grand Rapids, MI. She is the youngest of four siblings. Her interest for music began at age 3. Her parents saw her love for the music, and guided her to pursue it. They enrolled her in the Grand Rapids Choir Academy and as she grew older, she got more involved with the Kids Choir at her church. She later became a worship leader of the Youth and the Adult Worship Team at Resurrection Life Church. When she was 12 she won first place for her School Talent Show. She always kept herself busy doing auditions within her church. Jasmine is bilingual and enjoys playing the piano and clarinet.

At the age of 11, she recorded her first “Pop” album in Spanish, “Limpiame Con Tu Vida” (Cleanse Me With Your Life). She then started touring around Texas, Kansas, Colorado, Alabama, Michigan, California, and the borders of Mexico, presenting her music. She also, recorded two music videos for her two singles, “No Hay Mas Que Tu” (There Is No One Like You) and “Dueno De Mi Vida” (Owner Of My Life). “Limpiame Con Tu Vida” was produced by Steven Monarrez, who has worked with Spanish singers Marcos Witt, Danilo Montero and others. “Dueno De Mi Vida” is the first single for this album, and was written by a three-time Grammy Award winner Juan Salinas.

In November 2012, Jasmine released her first English Christmas single “Celebrate”.

In February of 2013, she released her Spanish single and music video “Nuestro Dios Es Grande” (Our God Is Great). The single was a huge success and was chosen to be a part of two different projects, Vizion Jesus Vol #1, (Jesus Vizion) and Nuhbe Hits 2013. “Nuestro Dios Es Grande” was also nominated “Best Youth Song Of 2013” for AMCL Awards.

Jasmine has participated in different Benefit and Community Concerts. She also travels every year to different countries on mission trips to visit churches for work and to sing.

Jasmine has participated and has shared the stage with different artists including Ken Reynolds, Daniel Calvetti, Coalo Zamorano, Alex Campos, Olga Breeskin, Jairo Torres, Miguel Balboa and has opened concerts for Rojo Band and more...

In November 2013, she released her Christmas EP “A Sparkling Christmas”.

She was also invited to be a part of a Live Recording for Ken Reynolds and his latest album “Higher”, which was recorded in Grand Rapids, MI. on November 3, 2013.
