Artist Spotlight - Shong Vang

My name is Shong Vang. I am a college student studying Non-profit Management at Trinity International University in Deerfield, IL. I've been in love with Jesus and worship ever since I was 12 years old. I started out as a drummer at the age of 8, and I created a worship band at the age of 12. After a year of failure, our band split apart. I still wanted to serve God through worship, but I didn't have any band members to serve God with. At age 14, I decided that if I could not serve God with a band, I would pick up the guitar and serve Him myself. That year marked the first time that I led worship for my church, the First Hmong Alliance Church in Aurora, IL. Today I am 23 years old, and I serve God in ways I would not have ever imagined.

I am an assistant music director at my church at the young age of 23, and I am still a worship leader after 9 years. One of my greatest goals in life is to write worship songs that will be used by thousands of churches and worship leaders across the world. I want to be able to know that God has put songs on my heart for worship leaders everywhere to use in their repertoires. I created my YouTube channel not only to post up worship songs that I have created, but also to cover some of my favorite worship songs that most people are not familiar with. This channel was also made to be a resource. I post lyrics and the guitar chords that I used in the videos as a guide and I hope that people will make it useful. I hope that the Holy Spirit moves through you during your time on my YouTube channel. Feel free to use any of the songs in my channel in your worship repertoire. To God be the glory forever and ever. Amen and God bless!
